I am a writer. I write and write and write and write... and I never get anywhere.
Ask my friends. How many books have I started? Too many to count.
How many have I finished? One. And it was a sixteen line children's book.
But I think I found my problem... like all the other times I found my "problem". I've been writing teen books this whole time. You know, like Sarah Dessen and Deb Caletti? But I started writing a Nicholas Sparks-ey kind of book and have gotten relatively far. Farther than my other books.
Maybe this is something?

Photo Inspiration
I applaud the first person to take a piece of furniture, put it in a field and take pictures. You've created masterpieces all over. Thank you.

New Author Obsession!
A couple of months ago, I was searching through Barnes and Noble (something that I should never be allowed to do unless someone has given me a gift card), and I came across some interestingly good looking books in the teen fiction section. The book covers looked about the same as Sarah Dessen's book covers. And if you are (or have been) a teenage girl, then you probably know about Sarah Dessen and her amazing and beautiful books. There always about real teenage girls, dealing with real teenage problems. My first Sarah Dessen book I ever read was Just Listen, about Annabel who finds friendship (and eventually romance.. oh come on, I'm not giving anything away, you knew it was coming!) with unsuspecting Owen who is obsessed with music. This began my obsession with Sarah Dessen, who wrote my all-time favorite book This Lullaby. I could sit here all night and talk to you about this book, but this is not about Dessen. No, no, no, this is about my new author I've come to love -- Deb Caletti.
I know, I know, "Never judge a book by it's cover," but who really listens to that? I almost ALWAYS judge a book by it's cover.. or the back cover after I read the synopsis. I picked up Stay by Deb Caletti back in.... March? I can't be certain when it was, but I flew through the book. It was so... gripping.
Clara is a normal teenage girl, living with her widowed father, except she has a secret. This summer vacation at the beach isn't any normal vacation. She's running, running from her psycho ex boyfriend who can't take that the relationship is over. This book had me on edge the entire time. I loved it! It's full of fear of Clara's ex-boyfriend Christian, lust for her new beau, sadness for the loss of her mother, and excitement as she experiences this new town and all it's wonders.
This new-found obsession with Deb Caletti has lead me to want to read more books. And today I got my wish! For a little over a week I have been expecting my package to come and I finally got it! Inside the box were three books (and all for 99 cents each! + shipping). Tiny Treasures from American Girl.. I used to have it as a kid but I gave it to my cousins and now I wanted a copy again to take to work for the girls, The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen.. which I am SO excited for. I've never read Allen, but heard she's fabulous.. and The Fortunes of Indigo Skye by Deb Caletti. So far, I've read through the first few pages. I'm really excited about this one, folks! Really excited!
Indigo's final year of high school is coming to a close, and she's working harder than ever at Carrera's Diner. But when a handsome, rich strangers leaves her a 2.5 million dollar tip, life changes.
So if you need a good read, check out Deb Caletti. I highly recommend Stay. And I'm sure in a few days I'll be recommending The Fortunes of Indigo Skye!

Lions and Tigers and Bears AND PICTURES!
Shooting with the B-E-A-UTIFUL Ashley of VA Photography yesterday was so much fun! I feel so relaxed when I'm taking pictures, and editing them, and seeing the finished products. And what a beautiful model I had! She is so photogenic! Don't you think? I think!
We walked around downtown Richmond for a bit, took back alleys, invaded an apartment complex, a fire escape, the usual. :P
Shooting in manual is harder than it looks, is all I can say! But I can definitely see a difference in quality with auto vs. manual. And I choose manual. The extra work is definitely worth it!
Anyway, this shoot was in preparation for the wedding I am helping her shoot in September! AHHHHH! I am so excited. If you've been following me for a while, you know that I helped her shoot a wedding in April for a girl that went to school with us, and if you saw the pictures you saw how beautiful of a wedding it was and how fun it looked! I am so looking forward to that again! (:
Anyway, please gaze upon this beautiful figure and gawk at my awesome camera abilities. (pahahaha, joke.)
Adorbs.
"I love you, now make me hate you," - Me.
"Rawr," - Ash.
This is probably my favorite picture from the shoot. I don't know why, maybe it's because this is so unlike her personality, and it's very "model-ish".
I have to say, I was a little apprehensive on the rail road tracks, but Ashley was all for it, so we did and I'm so glad we did because this pictures turned out beautifully! (:
Check out the rest of the pictures on my NEW FANGLED FACEBOOK FAN PAGE! (:

MIA is B-A-C-K
Hello all!
Yes, I have been missing in action this summer. I apologize. Between working and school and my (absent) social life, I haven't had much time to blog or photograph or anything. :P You remember my Summer Photo Bucket List? Yeah, haven't done ANYTHING on it.
But the always wonderful Ashley Link has once again asked me to help shoot a wedding! Eeep! So excited. So I will be shooting with her today downtown for an hour or so, I guess until it gets dark, and I'll be practicing more with manual shooting. It's exciting.
I did shoot a bridal shower for my mom's friend, which turned out really well. (: But other than that and shooting my kids at work, I haven't really done anything this summer. I did shoot for Stephen and Shannon at the beginning of the summer, but it feels like forever ago.
So, excited for today! Hopefully I can have the pictures up on here tomorrow! (:
